Overview
Advantage Solutions is a global marketing and sales agency supporting major retailers such as Walmart, Target, Whole Foods, and CVS. As part of the product team, I helped redesign the internal Event Management platform - a core tool used to plan, track, and manage in-store retail activations and promotional events across large retail networks.
The redesign focused on improving usability, modernizing workflows, and enabling enterprise clients to efficiently manage high volumes of events across multiple locations.
My Contributions

The Challenge
The existing Event Management system had become outdated and difficult to use.

Retail teams struggled with:
• confusing event creation workflows

The goal was to modernize the platform, streamline workflows, and increase cross-feature adoption across the system.
Process
Discovery & Audit:
Conducted stakeholder interviews and gathered client feedback from major retail partners.
Performed a comprehensive UX audit to identify pain points across event creation, scheduling, and reporting workflows.
Ideation & Redesign:
Designed a simplified event creation flow that reduced cognitive load and prioritized essential inputs.
Redesigned dashboards and navigation to surface key metrics such as event status, ROI, and upcoming activities.
Onboarding & Adoption:
Introduced contextual tooltips, walkthroughs, and improved onboarding flows to help new users understand platform capabilities faster.
Testing & Validation:
Conducted usability testing with enterprise clients to validate the redesigned workflows.
Post-launch metrics showed improved usability and increased feature adoption across the platform.

Advanced Filtering & Search:Introduced external filters (date, time, status, and checkboxes) to reduce search friction and help teams quickly locate events.

Clear Status Indicators:Enhanced event status signals (Pending, Approved, Rejected) to improve visibility and enable faster decision-making.

Modular Enterprise UI:Designed flexible UI components that allowed the platform to adapt to different retail client requirements without requiring full redesigns.
